Laura is an Emmy nominated freelance make-up artist based in the Portland, OR area with over 17 years of professional experience in television and film.  Specializing in beauty, special effects, and character make-up.  

 

Laura studied fine arts at Washington State University and received a bachelors degree.  She then went on to study make-up at Joe Blasco Make-up Center West and was mentored by three-time Oscar-winning make-up artist Ve Neill.

 

After 8 years and some wonderful shows as a make-up artist and contact lens technician, she ultimately decided to move back to the Pacific Northwest where she grew up.

After the move she immediately jumped into working as the key makeup artist and then the Department Head on the NBC television show "Grimm" in Portland for 6 years.

Some of her career highlights include working on the Pirates of the Caribbean II & III and being a contact lens technician on the films Body of Lies, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Resident Evil: Extinction and Fright Night.
